How to make money with your website
You build it but what if no one comes? Having a website these days is more than just putting up text and pretty pictures. How do you push people to your site? How do you keep them engaged? This workshop will share tips on search, online marketing and content that you can take away and action immediately.
During this interactive workshop with Matthew Varley & Jon Chin, attendees will have the chance to submit their website for a “medical check up” & receive constructive feedback areas of improvement from an online marketing point of view.
Finally, there will be plenty of time for questions so you have the chance to ask Matthew & Jon anything about search, online marketing and site optimisation.
Presented by Matthew Varley, Executive General Manager-Asia, Wotif Group and Jon Chin, Head of Digital Strategy, ClickMedia

The Importance of Social Media to Travel Brands – How Hotels, Airlines, Travel Agents and Tour Operators Can Drive Results
In 2010 social media went mainstream for brands, but many travel executives are still wrestling with why it matters. In this clinic, we get to the heart of social media specifically for the travel industry, covering how it impacts operations, sales & marketing, and online distribution. Examples and case studies from various sectors of the industry will be presented including hotels, airlines, and travel agents.
Attendees will leave this session with a foundational understanding of how to use social media to increase online bookings, brand favorability, and customer loyalty.
Led by Mario Jobbe, Co-Founder of Brand Karma, the clinic will cover the following:
- A short but comprehensive overview of the social media landscape for the travel industry, including recent trends and up-and-coming web sites
- Predictions and guidance for 2011
- Case studies in social media excellence, presented by travel companies that have achieved exceptional results
- Interactive assessment on social media scenarios (e.g. when should you respond to a negative posting?)
