Bernard Harrison was the CEO of the Singapore Zoological Gardens from 1983 to July 2002. Credited with a creative and innovative vision, Harrison is synonymous with the Singapore Zoo, having brought the Zoo, its open concept of animal display and the Night Safari to international acclaim.

Bernard has more than 30 years of experience as a professional zoo manager and has visited scores of zoos all over the world after joining the Singapore Zoological Gardens as Curator of Zoology in 1973. With Bernard Harrison & Friends, he and his wife have been intimately involved in the planning and development of more than 16 night safaris across the world and zoo projects in China, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, United Arab Emirates and the Seychelles.
