Richard developed the first electronic travel industry payment system "Moneydirect" and 'Smartfares' an airfare distribution product. Collectively both products have won 5 travel industry best product awards.

He joined Webjet in 2004 initially as CFO and now CEO. Since 2004 sales at Webjet have grown sixteen fold. Webjet is Australia's largest transacting online travel agency site and one of the fastest growing companies in Australia. Hitwise ranks Webjet # 1 travel agency site in Australia and # 3 in New Zealand.
