About WIT

The Heart of WIT

The heart of WIT is the annual WIT (Web In Travel) Conference that takes place in Singapore. It started in 2005 as an event to focus thought, debate and personality around the subject of travel distribution, marketing and technology. 

We knew the travel industry was changing and that this space would have a big influence on how the industry would take shape in the future, and we wanted to play a role in enabling that change and empowering the travel community in Asia Pacific.

So we decided to organise an event that would be different from other travel conferences, that would enable collaboration and the open exchange of ideas, insights and opinions - a conference with personality, point of view and purpose.

Six years on, it’s grown – from 160 delegates in 2005 to 420 in 2010. That’s just a number though. It’s won a couple of awards – that’s just for show though. 

We like to think that WIT has grown beyond the numbers that show up at its physical event every year and that it is more than a physical show-and-tell.

We now have a website that carries news, opinions, commentary. We have a social media network. We organize events that we believe break down walls and inspire and mentor anyone who wants to build a career in travel and tourism or who want to build a business in this space. And we have taken these events to places such as Thailand and Australia. 

Seven years on, we remain dedicated to creating cutting edge content and social experiences for the travel community in Asia Pacific.

Web In Travel – incorporating The Transit Café

Our purpose is to take your mind to new places and spread the love of travel.

WIT is a content and community platform for the travel distribution, marketing and technology space. It provides news, commentary, analysis and opinions and organizes events that break down walls between people, cultures, knowledge and ideas. Events include WIT*e – Inspiration & Mentoring, WITovation Entrepreneur Bootcamp and the WIT Conference.

The Transit Café is a place for travel insiders who want a bit of alternative wisdom, a dose of irreverence and a dash of humour from our resident writers. It is a transit stop for all travellers who wish to share their stories and experiences and spread the love of travel.

Together, WIT & The Transit Café want to make it easy for everyone to want to and become a global traveller by:
