On-demand mobile hotel booking solution, SavvyMob, expands footprint in India

Bangalore-based start up, SavvyMob, is on an expansion path, spreading to 50 Indian destinations with over 500 hotels that include Royal Orchid, Golden Tulip, Summit Hotels, and Trip India Hotels.

Its latest expansion in the last six months also covered newer holiday destinations like Leh, Ladakh, Gangtok, Darjeeling, as well as north and northeast India.

Bikram Sohal, CEO and co-founder of SavvyMob, said: “We will continue to increase our inventory over the next 12 months to become the largest supplier of last room availability for boutique and 3-to-5 star hotels and resorts in India.

“With the investment we are raising, we will further drive automation and develop new mobile guest services products to increase sales for the hospitality industry.”

At the end-user level the solution targets business and leisure millennial travellers who are looking for the best rates for their unplanned or spontaneous travels.

SavvyMob said it could help these users save up to 30% for their last minute hotel bookings as it sourced these deals directly through hotel partners.

As a mobile only solution users can purchase exclusive and last minute hotel deals through their smartphone’s and tablets.

“With growing smartphone user base in India (approximately 22 million smartphones were sold last quarter according to IDC), we are positioning ourselves to be the go-to last minute hotel booking partner for SMEs and independent travellers”, said Gappan Annamalai, SavvyMob COO and co-founder.

India is set to become one of the largest markets for mobile commerce with 300+ million millennial consumers, a growing smartphone user base, and a prime minister who has a vision of a digital India.
