Conrad Macao launches ‘PINK Inspired 2015’

pinkConrad Macao, Cotai Central has announced its ‘PINK Inspired 2015’ campaign. From October 1 until October 31, 2015, the hotel will offer its guests a series of ‘plush, pink experiences’ in support of the Hong Kong Cancer Fund’s Pink Revolution, an annual campaign that raises awareness and funds for breast cancer research. 

A Diamond sponsor of the campaign for the third year in a row, Conrad Macao has pledged to donate a portion of its sales proceeds to the Fund, including proceeds from its iconic bear and rubber duck – both of course, in limited-edition pink.

Impending recession will put downward pressure on hotel rates

regentAs markets fluctuated erratically on Black Monday, it may be a sign of things to come. Some economists are warning of an impending recession.

Steven Pan, chairman of FIH Regent Group, said that some markets like China have an over supply of hotel rooms and with the global economy slowing down, led by China, this would put major pressure on rates everywhere.

Thailand takes steps to reform tourism sector

ThailandIn the face of declining competitiveness, Thailand has taken steps to reform its tourism sector by integrating five tourism-related agencies under the banner of the National Tourism Policy Committee. The proposal, recently approved by he National Reform Council, follows concerns over security in the wake of the Bangkok blasts. 

Spearheaded by the Tourism Reform Subcommittee (TRSC), the reform plan aims to “maintain competitiveness and local residents’ confidence, as the sharp growth in visitor numbers has created a host of problems for local communities,” according to the Bangkok Post.
