Bedsonline, part of the HBX Group, has unveiled its new loyalty programme, Bedsonline Rewards, designed to reward and recognise the work of travel agents around the world.
The new programme, which will substitute the prior Star Rewards programme in some markets, will integrate seamlessly with Bedsonline’s existing booking engine and will allow agents to earn points for any of their purchases, whether it be accommodation, experiences or other products.
Bedsonline Rewards is built on a tier-based structure. Starting at Bronze level, agents new to the programme will be awarded a 2,000-point welcome bonus. As agents earn more points through each booking, they can move up to higher tiers, each offering more valuable rewards.
Agents can sign up through the booking engine and, once enrolled, can access their personal dashboard to track their points, view their current tier and explore the rewards available to them.
Agents can redeem Amazon vouchers or other gift vouchers depending on the market. They can also opt for Bedsonline vouchers for future bookings, allowing them to reinvest their rewards directly back into their business.
McKinsey and Co says consumer attention to Black Friday is on the wane as other sales marketing concepts such as Cyber Monday gain traction around the time of Thanksgiving in the United States.
The latest entrant in this category of calendar-linked marketing pushes is Travel Tuesday—a day on which shoppers can find deals on travel purchases such as hotel stays or airline flights.
In a 2018 article, the New York Times credited the online-booking platform Hopper with populariing the Travel Tuesday concept.
At the moment, Travel Tuesday is largely a North American phenomenon, but McKinsey suggests, like Black Friday, the concept will be adopted globally.
This year’s Travel Tuesday sales were held on 3 December, giving those who wish to jump onboard plenty of time to plan their relevant promotions and campaigns around the 2025 event.
Short-form video travel marketplace, NaviSavi , this week officially launched the first B2B platform dedicated to vertical, travel-only user generate content (UGC) short-form videos for marketing, offering travel brands access to more than 125,000 geolocated videos from over 180 countries produced by 5,000 creators.
The NaviSavi concept works in a similar way to image websites such as Shutterstock by providing a one-stop for pre-cleared content, but rather than professional content the company offers vertical UGC videos that additionally are geo-tagged.
NaviSavi said travel brands would no longer need to liaise with hundreds of influencers to negotiate rates or clearance and can also search by keyword or map based.
Sally Bunnell, founder & CEO of NaviSavi, said, “We’ve known for some time that user-generated content videos generate higher rates of engagement, but the travel industry has been slow to wake up to this.
“To fill that gap we set out to crowdsource this content and now – with 125,000 geo-located videos available – we’re super excited to officially roll out the B2B platform for our B2C travel clients.”
