Bomb blast sends shock waves through Thai economy
Just when the Tourism Authority of Thailand was celebrating a great set of international visitor numbers, with Chinese tourists leading the way, the Bangkok bomb that killed 20 and injured hundreds on Monday night, has put fear back into minds of travellers.
Chinese visitors had returned to Thailand confident that the military government had restored order after the political turmoil – and violence – of the previous two years.

SA tourism boost with new Park Hotel Adelaide
Marking its first venture outside Asia, Park Hotel Group signed a contract with Pirie Investments (AUS) Pty Ltd to manage Park Hotel Adelaide, slated to open end of 2018.
There to officiate the signing ceremony, Hon Martin Hamilton-Smith, Minister for Investment and Trade, Minister for Defence Industries and Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, South Australia said, “this is a coup for South Australia. Another upscale hotel city hotel will boost our AU$5 billion tourism industry and support the more than 33,000 people it employs.”

Bali dolphins get global attention, but no release
Despite a global call for the release of four dolphins held in a resort pool in Bali, there has been no action. In fact, the Indonesian government has pronounced a good health report for the dolphins.
According to local media reports, Indonesia’s environment and forestry ministry admitted one of the dolphins was half blind and all of them were toothless, but it said all of the dolphins were found to be healthy.
