Flight Centre Singapore is offering its customers the chance to immerse and transport themselves to a destination of their choice in-store with the launch of the Virtual Reality (VR) experience at its headquarters.

The VR experience starts with three destinations –Hoi An in Vietnam, Tokyo in Japan and Cairns in Australia, with more in the pipeline.

According to Flight Centre it is “the first travel retailer in South East Asia to introduce such technology”, and is in line with the increasing utilisation of VR by brands to “educate and excite their customers”.

Flight Centre collaborated with TaKanto Virtual Reality, Singapore’s first VR production company, on this project.

Suyin Lee, managing director of Flight Centre Travel Group, said the introduction of VR was part of plan to provide customers with seamless end-to-end travel experiences that begin in-store.

“This exciting initiative enhances the dreaming and planning stage of a trip and inspires customers to interact with destinations they may have never considered.”

She added that the VR experience could be used as a sales tool, “empowering Flight Centre Travel Experts with first-hand knowledge of the destinations they are promoting to their customers.”

Flight Centre will roll out the VR experience across all three stores over the coming weeks.
