flyadeal announces order for A330 widebody aircraft

flyadeal, the low-cost carrier under the Saudia Group, has announced an order for 10 Airbus A330neo wide-body aircraft, marking a shift towards long-haul operations. The aircraft, scheduled for delivery from 2027 over a three-year period, will support the airline’s expansion into Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Indian subcontinent. Currently operating a narrow-body A320 fleet, flyadeal plans to use the A330neos on high-demand routes, slot-constrained airports, and for dedicated Hajj and Umrah pilgrim services. The order was formalised during a ceremony in Toulouse attended by senior officials from Airbus and Saudia Group.

The new A330neos will feature a two-class configuration with about 400 seats, including a premium cabin, enhancing flyadeal’s service offering as it taps into new markets. With ambitions aligned to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, flyadeal plans to triple its fleet to over 100 aircraft and expand its network to more than 100 destinations by the end of the decade. Vision 2030 aims to boost annual air traffic to 300 million passengers and connect Saudi Arabia to over 250 global destinations. Airbus considers the deal as a pivotal move that will strengthen the Kingdom’s long-haul aviation capabilities and flyadeal’s position in the regional market.
