Queenstown is set to once again become a meeting point for the global travel technology industry, with WiT Queenstown returning on 28 March 2028 following a highly successful inaugural event earlier in the year.

The first New Zealand edition of WiT (Web in Travel), delivered in partnership with Technology Queenstown, was a sellout event that attracted travel technology leaders, founders, investors and tourism executives from across New Zealand and around the world.

The return of WiT Queenstown reinforces the growing momentum behind Queenstown’s ambition to become a leading hub for travel technology and innovation in the Southern Hemisphere.

Technology Queenstown Chair Roger Sharp says the success of the inaugural event demonstrated there is a strong appetite for global travel tech insights and innovation sharing to take place in Queenstown.

“Queenstown is the perfect place to have conversations about the future of travel. We have millions of visitors coming through the region every year, hundreds of tourism and hospitality businesses and an emerging technology ecosystem.”

“That combination gives us something quite unique. We have a real-world environment where new travel technologies can be developed, tested and experienced.”

WiT founder Siew Hoon Yeoh said Queenstown had proven to be a natural fit for the WiT community.

“WiT has always been about bringing together people who are curious about how technology is changing travel, and Queenstown gives us a wonderful setting to do that. It is a destination that understands the importance of innovation, while also being a living laboratory for many of the challenges and opportunities facing travel today.”

The event will explore the technologies and trends reshaping the travel industry, including artificial intelligence, digital experiences, and emerging travel technology, while examining the opportunities for businesses and destinations to innovate.

“Travel tech is evolving incredibly quickly,” said Sharp, “WiT Queenstown gives us a front-row seat. We want to connect the global travel technology community with the people and businesses here who are solving real challenges and creating new experiences for visitors.”

Further information on the programme, speakers and registration will be announced in due course.
