Klook, a travel activities and services booking platform, has released its Top 10 list of most photographed travel experiences in Asia. And its results clearly show up the trend towards travel that is culture-driven, experiential and unique.
Klook analysed the activities it offers in Asia and found those with the highest ratio of photo reviews between January and September 2018 and came up with a Top 10 list of most photographed travel experiences.
Seoul’s DMZ Tour topped the list.
Seoul’s Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) Tour is Klook’s most photographed travel experience this year, underscoring the trend towards unique experiential and culture-driven travel.
In second place is its Kyoto Seaside Day Tour, its popularity no doubt buoyed by Travel Frog, a Japanese game that has Asians hooked. In close third was Banteay Chhmar in northwestern Cambodia. The “Citadel of Cats” temple complex as been described as one of the country’s most beautiful forgotten Khmer ruins.
Hong Kong’s traditional boat experience made the top 10.
Others in the Top 10 list of most photographed experiences include the Elephant Day Care at the Chiang Mai Mountain Sanctuary that engages those who want to travel with an environmental or social purpose; the Islands Kayaking in Sai Kung experience signaling a growing interest in off-the-beaten-path excursions; the hall of Supreme Harmony within the Forbidden City in Beijing; a day in North Taipei which is “packed with Instagrammable scenes” – from Yehliu Geopark to hillside teahouses and quaint villages; Sompong Thai Cooking Class in Bangkok; Hanbok Rental experience in Seoul where visitors can live out their K-drama fantasies with hairstyling and a large selection of hanboks; and Hong Kong’s Aqua Luna Evening Sail, offering unique views of the skylines as it cruises around the harbor.
