Thailand-based Rembrandt Hotel & Towers Bangkok has launched the mobile Bangkok Travel Guide for Android powered devices, the first such app for the hotel, as well as for Thailand.

The app was developed in cooperation with Singapore-based mobile application developer, EuroAsia Communications Pte Ltd.

Travellers to Bangkok using this app are now able to find the latest information on Bangkok and the Rembrandt Hotel, through the Google Android Market and via mobile operators in the Asia Pacific region.

Eric Hallin, Rembrandt Hotel & Towers’ general manager said its “intention” in developing the mobile travel guide “is to stay as close to the mobile market place as possible in order to offer visitors to Bangkok 24 hour access to our hotel property together with the latest travel information on Bangkok.”

He added the app for the iPhone, iPad and Blackberry would follow in the next couple of weeks. It will be in several languages, namely English, Spanish, German and Bahasa Indonesia and Bahasa Malaysia. It will also integrate a booking engine for rooms and restaurants, which will be distributed by the major telephone networks in Singapore, Malaysia, India and neighbouring countries.
