Travel data management company, Travelogix has announced plans to expand in APAC and South Africa over the course of the next few months. This move follows its recent management buyout from Sweden-based Safeture AB last September. It aims to increase its international market share of its Analytix platform, as well as launch its new Farecast platform (from April 2020).
“The UK market is consolidating fast,” said founder and managing director, Chris Lewis. “International growth is a big focus of ours.
“What attracted us to the APAC market is that it is somewhat untapped and unsupported in terms of data and tech provisions… One of the platforms within our Analytix systems allows us to consolidate data from multiple TMCs around the world, who may share the same global client… the region that holds all this together seems to be Asia, or South-east Asia specifically,” Lewis explained.
“Without anyone gathering the Asia data, no one can see the whole picture.”
South Africa, on the other hand, will act as its gateway to the continent. “The Africa market seems to be managed by one back office system, which has major control of the markets, but what they don’t seem to have is any provision for data,” Lewis explained. He hopes Travelogix will step into that role.
“Our main focus in South Africa is going to be to put our Farecast platform in there, which allows agencies to manage all of their airline and commercial deals within [it],” explained Lewis.
Farecast is Travelogix’s latest software development – an airline incentive management platform focused on TMC groups and consortia.
“That platform will lend itself well to that region because pretty much every single agency belongs to a consortium of some description, which negotiates the airline deals on behalf of these agencies. The ‘consortium’ mentality would be a slightly different spin for us with the Farecast model.”
As it seeks to expand, Travelogix will use a partnership approach, to act as a launchpad into new markets. “We speak to a number of TMCs and technical partners to get a feel for it and do a macro-analysis on [what products are needed],” explained Lewis.
Founded in 2011, Travelogix provides “high-end data delivery, management software, reporting tools and smart solutions for TMCs and their clients,” to boost client business efficiency and reporting. It supplies software to approximately 70 TMCs globally, with 2500 corporations having access to the platform.
It works to take data from multiple sources and incorporate it into an integrated suite, so that it can evolve beyond simple metrics (like spend analysis and policy compliance) and develop deeper insights into expense management control, predictive analytics and policy improvement intelligence.
