Australian online travel company, Wotif, has appointed hospitality industry veteran Scott Blume as CEO, replacing Robbie Cooke who resigned in September 2012.

An Australian, Blume (pictured left) is a seasoned CEO with travel sector experience both within Australia and Asia, He has worked in Asia – in Singapore, India, and Indonesia – for 10 years as Singapore-based Asia Pacific president of Travelocity and CEO of Zuji. He is currently the chief executive of Indonesia’s RKI Group. and has been with the company since November 2011.
He also spent four years as a non-executive director of the Singapore Tourism Board, as well as worked with Flight Centre and Traveland.
Blume will take on his new role at the end of January 2013, and will be based in Brisbane, Australia.
Wotif chairman Dick McIlwain said the appointment followed an extensive search among a number of high calibre internal and external candidates. He added that Blume’s experience covered both e-commerce and business travel support services, which are important parts of the Wotif business model.
