Jetstar expands its distribution channels in China with new and convenient initiatives designed to give consumers and the travel trade easier access to its fares.

The addition of popular payment methods, such as Alipay and China Union Pay credit cards, make the purchase of flights on Jetstar.com easy for consumers.

The fares are also available via Ctrip, China’s largest online travel portal.

“Our presence on Ctrip, China’s leading travel portal with more than 50 million registered users, creates unprecedented access for our growing number of Chinese customers,” said Jetstar group chief commercial officer, David Koczkar.

The airline’s fares are also fully accessible on all TravelSky GDS and LCC platforms. Customers can access the fares and ancillary products via 7,000 plus travel agents across China. They have the choice of booking through the GDS or a new a customised Jetstar trade site, including direct bank debit in RMB for the group airlines flying to China.

Koczkar said this expansion reflected Jetstar’s plan to strengthen its presence in China.

The Jetstar group currently flies to nine Chinese destinations. Jetstar Airways flies to Beijing, while Jetstar Asia flies to Hangzhou, Ningbo, Shantou, Haikou, Guangzhou, Nanning, Hong Kong and Taipei.

Jetstar Hong Kong is scheduled to start flying in 2013 to destinations in Greater China.
