Below is a summary of how the regions’s top travel websties performed for May according to data from Experian Hitwise. (Details in the slideshow below)
Australia
• Although Wotif.com maintained its spot as the top online travel agency with 12.44% share of visits, it was not listed in the top 10 of Destination and Accommodation category despite being ranked number two in April.
• TripAdvisor Australia achieved 6.85% share of visits, again emerging as the top destination and accommodation website with Booking.com coming in a close second (6.01%).
• For the first time since the start of the year Qantas lost its place as the top commercial airline website (22.51%), while Jetstar moved up from second rank to secure its place at the top with 22.78% share of visits.
Hong Kong
• For the second month running new entrant, Jipiao.trip.taobao.com, kept its title as the top online travel agency in Hong Kong with 9.36% share of visits, close to double the amount recorded by second-ranked ZUJI Hong Kong (5.8%).
• Yahoo! Travel Hong Kong remained the leading destination and accommodation website for Hong Kong travellers (9.87%).
• Cathay Pacific continued its reign as the leading commercial airline portal with 31.51% share of visits, far ahead of second-placed Dragon Air (7.05%).
Singapore
• Expedia Singapore jumped from third spot to clinch the title as the top online travel agency forMay (13.3%), ahead of ZUJI Singapore and Yahoo! Singapore Travel.
• Agoda.com kept its lead as the top Destination and Accommodation website with 17.02% share of visits, followed by TripAdvisor (6.76%) and Booking.com (5.15%).
• Over in the Commercial Airline category, Tiger Airways (20.62%), Jetstar (17.02%) and Singapore Airlines (13%) remained the top three portals, while new budget player, FlyScoot (3.2%), moved up two spots to number five.
