AXUS, the leading provider of itinerary management solutions for travel advisors and tour operators, has partnered with travel42 to integrate in-depth destination content into the itinerary planning app.
The collaboration makes available more than 6,000 detailed city and country guides through a dedicated tab inside AXUS, which are added directly to any itinerary, offering advisors an essential sales tool as they create proposals and itineraries for travellers.
travel42’s country, city and port guides include key traveller information such a country overview, what to see and do, insider tips, local security, dining and etiquette and an events calendar. There are also details on more than 40,000 curated locations such as museums, landmarks, restaurants, nightlife and shopping. New updates are added in nightly and the site eschews sponsored content to remain an objective authority.
Sheila Rice, vice president of the Information Products Group at Northstar, which owns travel42 and acquired AXUS in October 2017, said the country and city guides would give planners and travellers advanced insight into experiences in a destination.
“Creating anticipation and building traveller confidence through deeper engagement are both highly effective sales tools for travel advisors,” she added.
Julia Douglas, founder of AXUS, said the addition of travel42’s content to the apps makes the platform even more turnkey for travel planners.
“They can access and consolidate information for every facet of a travel itinerary inside a single system, not only saving them time but also providing a more valuable and comprehensive end product to their travellers.”
AXUS automates the creation of trip proposals and itineraries, allowing travel advisors to quickly and easily build, manage, collaborate on and share digital itineraries with colleagues and customers. Travellers access those itineraries, with features like flight status notifications, driving directions and in-app messaging, through a unique URL or the mobile app.
