Klook, a leading platform for experiences and travel services in Asia, is furthering its efforts in social commerce with the introduction of new features focused on Gen Z and millennial travellers. As part of its ongoing strategy to leverage social media, Klook has announced the integration of booking capabilities on TikTok, allowing users to discover and book travel attractions directly within the app.
This new feature is now available across seven markets in Southeast Asia and Japan, enabling travellers to move seamlessly make a conversion from inspiration to booking. Klook’s Vice President of Global Marketing, Marcus Yong, emphasised the importance of this development, stating, “Social media has become the go-to channel for travellers seeking inspiration on destinations and things to do. Klook is now able to bridge these travellers directly to the activities they discover on their feeds, enhancing our social-first approach in meeting the needs of the next generation of travellers.”
Klook’s initiatives in social commerce aim to connect its network of merchant partners with a new demographic of travellers. The platform has seen significant growth in markets such as Taiwan, Australia, and the United States. In response, Klook is expanding its Kreator program to include platforms like YouTube, catering to the rising demand for authentic user-generated content (UGC).
Since its launch in 2023, the Klook Kreator program has grown to include over 20,000 Kreators across 16 global markets. Klook continues to support these creators through Kreator Labs workshops, which offer opportunities for content creators to enhance their skills and collaborate with merchant partners.
In an upcoming event, Klook will host Asia Pacific’s largest gathering of travel content creators in September 2024. This event will bring together over 130 Kreators from around the world.
