The inaugural Balestier Heritage Race, held on 12 June and co-organised by the Ramada and Days Hotels Singapore At Zhongshan Park and WIT, has successfully raised S$12,688 for Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home.

A cheque was presented by Tony Cousens, General Manager of the Ramada and Days Hotels Singapore to Mark Then, the director of Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home and son of the late Lee Ah Mooi, at the home recently.
Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home, located along Thomson Road, is a nursing home committed to its late founder, Madam Lee Ah Mooi’s mission, to provide quality nursing care at an affordable price. Today, it has 110 residents and is one of the cheapest homes providing care for the aged.
The Balestier Heritage Race was organised to highlight the heritage gems along the Balestier Heritage Trail, curated by the National Heritage Board, and at the same time, raise funds for the Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home.
The race saw some 147 participants from all walks of life with the majority from travel companies racing through the streets of Balestier to uncover the 20 heritage spots required to complete the race. Each participant paid a nominal fee of $30 to enter the race and costs of running the race, such as the attractive cash prizes for the first three teams in the race, were contributed by sponsors and organisers.
Donations were also made by individuals and corporate companies towards Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home.
Meanwhile, continuing to promote the heritage around Balestier, Ramada and Days Hotels Singapore has launched a photo contest which will run during the month of September.
