AccorHotels will group its three holiday home and villa rental companies –Travel Keys, Squarebreak and onefinestay – under the onefinestay brand before the end of the year.
The integration will see onefinestay offering over 10,000 properties in six continents – from metropolitan centres such as New York, Los Angeles Rome and San Francisco to island getaways in Asia and Europe.
AccorHotels said the merger would finalise an agreement with the founders of Squarebreak for the acquisition of the entire share capital in the company. It bought 49% of Squarebreak in February 2016, and expects the transaction to be effective in the coming weeks. The French startup, specialising in villa rentals, was created in 2013 by two young entrepreneurs.
The French hotel group’s acquisition of onefinestay, a high-end hospitality pioneer specialising in luxury serviced home rental in key worldwide gateways, was made in April 2016.
AccorHotels continued its acquisitons of holiday rental companies with the purchase of 100% in Travel Keys, a leading player in the private vacation rental market founded in 1991, in February this year.
“The portfolio will be placed under the responsibility of Javier Cedillo-Espin, who has been appointed chief executive officer of onefinestay to head up the grouping of the three brands collaboratively with a team of executives from onefinestay, Travel Keys and Squarebreak,” said AccorHotels.
