Government plans to snoop on Uber drivers,
The Western Australian Government plans to use private investigators to help it crack down on ride sharing service Uber. The move comes after the government claimed Uber was avoiding prosecution by banning government compliance officers from using its service.
It is understood Uber has the compliance officers’ names and phone numbers and is able to blacklist them from accessing the app. Instead, covert investigators will be used to ensure compliance with the relevant state legislation.

Opposition continues to grow to a dolphin show in a swimming pool in Bali.
A Sydney surfer has started a Change.org petition to shut down the show that features four dolphins performing in a chlorinated pool measuring 10 metres by 20 metres.

All aboard: Trains take the strain in China
High-speed rail tours are becoming a popular choice of Chinese travellers, especially families and students during the peak summer season, as China’s growing railway network links the country’s scenic spots.
Online travel agent Ctrip said the number of tourists booking high-speed rail tours on the Hefei-Fujian high-speed railway has grown rapidly since it started operations on June 28.
