MAHB, which manages and operates 39 airports in Malaysia, said the portal is a smart tool that enables passengers to immediately compare prices and choose their preferred route and airline without the hassle of searching multiple websites..

Apart from a wide option of fares, travellers have the choice to fly with full-service airlines, low-cost carriers, or a mix and match of one-way fares from different airlines.

Checking out the portal, I found its simple, user-friendly interface made searching easy, fast and hassle free. It also acts as a travel guide on Malaysia, Asia and the KL International Airport (KLIA).

The hotel searches reveal a wide range of properties and prices within Malaysia and worldwide. MAHB said the (search) functions source results from over 150,000 properties worldwide including hotels, motels, hostels, backpackers, resorts, service apartments and villas

I like the feature, “Just For KL!”, which is designed for travellers who want to explore places and find the cheapest dates to fly to and from Kuala Lumpur.

There is also a section on flight, hotel and travel deals. You can also opt for the “Sign up for deals” feature and have them delivered to you.

I checked out the “In and Around KLIA” section and found myself on a virtual tour of KLIA and the nearby Low Cost Carrier Terminal, complete with directions and maps.

“Eye on Malaysia” and “Eye on Asia” are also two sections I like. Through a spinning wheel, I can choose the destinations or areas of interests I plan to visit or discover. I picked “Islands & Beaches” and found a “”Pick of the Month”, which is the famed island of Langkawi. A click and up popped a photo of the island resort accompanied by a description of what it has to offer. There is a list of  hotel deals and an option to search for flights from any destinations that has air services to the island. Another click and a list of airlines with fares is generated. The process is fast and smooth.

Verdict: User friendly, no frills, simple to navigate. Efficient tool for travellers within Malaysia, as well as other parts of the world to plan their travel to Malaysia and beyond, or use Kuala Lumpur as their base to travel within the Asian region.
