What happens when a scientist meets a Hollywood junkie?
01/10/2012 by WiT

For content to be interesting and engaging, you need to mix it up and shake it about – which is what we are doing with the “Future of Content” session at the WIT Conference.

We are mixing a mad scientist and a brilliant mind who’s pioneered mixed reality technology in labs in Singapore and Japan with a self-confessed geek and Hollywood junkie living in Los Angeles. Prof Adrian David Cheok has a unique perspective on where the Internet of people is heading and how travel and other businesses may fit in and George Mitchell believes there are lessons we can learn from the movie world of story-telling.

We then blend those two views with insights from an expert in content marketing (Gordon Locke) and perspectives from three travel businesses in China and South-east Asia on how each are using content to differentiate their business and trends they’re seeing in their markets – Melissa Yang, Tujia; and Ross Veitch, Wego.

Other critical questions that will be asked during this session  – what new technology and user interfaces are coming? Is travel uniquely positioned to be the leader in content on the web, given that it’s so personal to everyone and now that everyone can share? How do you stand out?

Yes, the content will be sizzling in this session at #WIT2012.

The Future of Content: Beyond Words, Even Reality

In the Internet of things – or Internet embedded everywhere in our real world – it’s now possible to make new kinds of personal and social travel experiences. Call it the radical effect of hyperconnectivity on people experiencing the world. But what does it really mean to us as humans and businesses? A scientist gives his take on the world around and beyond us and in the journey, takes our mind to new places. Plus, are there lessons we can learn from Hollywood? Followed by a panel on where experts see content and user interfaces going.
