HEDNA U to be held during WIT, ITB Asia week

HEDNA, the not-for-profit trade association whose worldwide membership includes executives and managers from the most influential companies in the hotel distribution industry, will be staging its HEDNA U in Singapore in conjunction with the Web In Travel conference and ITB Asia next week.

HEDNA U will be held on October 21 at Ballroom 2, Suntec Convention Centre, from 11.30am to 3pm.

HEDNA U Singapore will be an educational day session, enabling students new to the hotel electronic distribution industry to be more effective in their work.

Highlights of this half-day seminar include sessions on:
* How does the electronic distribution system function?
* How has the Internet opened up electronic distribution and changed its dynamics?
* How will Facebook, Twitter and other social media impact electronic distribution?
* Mobile is a powerful new tool. How will you use it to your best advantage?
* Use the “people network” is still very important to excel at trade shows and other one-on-one venues.

HEDNA U is designed to be an interactive experience for attendees. Q&A and discussion will be encouraged by the instructors –Joe Lim, Regional Director, Hospitality and Car Rental, Asia Pacific, Travelport; Angeline Hon, Director, Distribution & Intermediary Sales – Asia Pacific, InterContinental Hotel Group; and Edward Perry of HEDNA and Senior Director of E-Commerce WORLDHOTELS.

Said Edward Perry of HEDNA, who is also Senior Director of E-Commerce WORLDHOTELS, “HEDNA is excited to inaugurate HEDNA U in Singapore on October 21, 2010. For the past few years, HEDNA has held yearly networking lunches in Asia (either Hong Kong or Singapore) to highlight some of the key issues and trends relevant to hotel electronic distribution.
