Hong Kong-based airline, HK Express, has joined forces with flight comparison site, Dohop, to provide international interline services, making it the first Asian carrier to partner with the Icelandic company.
The partnership, sealed at the ongoing Aviation Festival 2018 in Singapore, will make it possible for the HK Express’ guests to travel beyond Asia with only one booking on their multi-leg journey.
The deal will see Dohop lining up HK Express with other airlines around the world for the interline partnership. It will also set up a search and booking application into the HK Express website, providing flights options from the partner airlines.
According to the Reykjavik-based company, the intuitive virtual platform will link HK Express’ guests with international airline partners, making it easier for them to find affordable multi-leg trips worldwide and explore destinations beyond Asia.

Jonathan Hutt, commercial director of HK Express, said the airline’s partnership with Dohop was part of a long-term strategy to expand its international network, as booking traffic moves toward web search.
“By working with Dohop, HK Express will be able to expand its services to partner airlines and airports around the globe. The new developed search engine by Dohop will draw more interline bookings on our website, providing benefits for both the airlines and our guests.”
David Gunnarsson, CEO of Dohop added: “The world of virtual interline is evolving at an incredible rate, and it is fantastic to see forward thinking airlines such as HK Express playing such a significant role in the booking process.”
Dopob, founded in Reykjavik in 2004, provides virtual interline solutions for the aviation industry, focusing on airline and airport white label solutions such as Worldwide by easyJet and GatwickConnects. It now connects travellers with more than 600 airlines and numerous destinations.
