Murray River Paddlesteamers, a key player in regional (Victoria, Australia) river cruises, has teamed up with Tour Amigo to enhance operational efficiency and customer service.

Murray River Paddlesteamers made the decision to transition to a new technology partner because their existing system, while effective for daily ticketing, no longer met the demands of their multi-day cruise itineraries. The operator required an end-to-end solution that would empower their customers to easily search for available departures and cabins and book directly online with less manual processes involved. As a boutique small boat operator with a larger vessel on the horizon, they recognised the need for an advanced system.

CEO Craig Burgess expressed satisfaction with the swift integration and highlighted the immediate improvements in customer experiences. The elimination of challenges like Solo Pricing was a noteworthy advancement, enabling smooth bookings for solo passengers. “Our previous system couldn’t handle Solo Pricing, requiring customers to contact us for bookings. In fact, our very first booking included two cabins, one of which was for a solo passenger”, stated Craig.

The shift to Tour Amigo also opens new doors for Murray River Paddlesteamers in the B2B landscape. The integration of these features facilitates an expansion of their business opportunities.

The imminent launch of their new vessel, the PS Australian Star, in 2025 is anticipated to be a game-changer for Murray River Paddlesteamers. With the support of Tour Amigo, they aim to maximize the potential of this addition, broadening their customer base and consolidating their position in the industry.

This strategic partnership marks a significant milestone for Murray River Paddlesteamers as they transition into a new phase of streamlined operations and revenue growth. With Cruise Amigo, Murray River Paddlesteamers is set to change the way they manage bookings and reservations, as well as the online customer booking experiences.

Murray River Paddlesteamers has full confidence that this transition to Tour Amigo will significantly contribute to their overall business growth. Their previous system had limitations that hindered B2B opportunities, but Tour Amigo’s seamless integration and enhanced features have opened new avenues for selling cruises, allowing the company to expand their B2B business substantially.

Aaron Moore, Head of Customer Success at Tour Amigo commented:

“As Murray River Paddlesteamers are an early adopter of our new Cruise software that we have developed over the past 12 months, it’s been brilliant to see the results so quickly including bookings within the first few hours from launch.”
