Skyscanner has just announced a new partnership with Trello – a visual collaboration tool – by introducing a “Skyscanner Power-Up” feature that will introduce travel search features onto the platform.
Using Skyscanner’s travel API, the Skyscanner and Trello Power-Up lets users see the best travel deals based on criteria such as destination and cheapest or most popular day or month. It will also let users compare prices to multiple destinations and understand what average prices are, so they know when they’ve found a good deal.
While users are not able to book directly through the platform, they will get access to Skyscanner’s flight searches, its database of knowledge on flight price trends and information on the best time to book direct.
Once users have successfully planned and booked their trips, all booking and reservation information can be added to a Trello trip’s cards, overcoming the hassle of sifting through your inbox to find a confirmation email.
Broadly, Trello works by allowing users to create and organise different ‘boards’ corresponding to different projects or topics. Each board has separate cards (like individual post-it notes) to help users organise information into clear categories or themes.
In both travel and beyond, Trello allows multiple users to collaborate on the same board. For example, individuals can assign each other tasks when planning group trips, share reservation details, ideas for in-destination activities, check off to-do lists, and more. It is primarily a way of consolidating all important information into one place to make it easily accessible at any point in time.
Through its partnership with Skyscanner, Trello has positioned itself throughout the travel funnel at the trip inspiration, research and planning.
“We understand the needs of today’s travellers as they are at the heart of everything that we do at Skyscanner,” explained Hugh Aitken (Senior Director Strategic Partnerships, Skyscanner).
“This latest collaboration with Trello is a great example of how when our technology is integrated with a partner’s platform, we create exciting travel solutions that add even more value to travellers during the planning experience.”
The Power-Up is a free feature accessible to all Trello users.
