Travelport today launches its ground-breaking Travelport Universal API™ (Application Programming Interface) to developers in Asia. Now available in over 90 countries, Travelport uAPI is the first API that aggregates content from the GDS (air, car and hotel), high speed rail suppliers, low cost carriers, accommodation providers and merchandising and ancillary services through a single connection.
Travelport uAPI enables developers to gain access to multiple content sources by writing code for only one solution, decreasing the time required to launch new travel applications. The solution sits under the Travelport Developer Network programme, which supports the company’s open platform strategy in providing open and flexible access to content and services. Its technology framework offers developers the freedom to innovate and support the creation of next generation travel tools and apps.
Patrick Andres, Travelport’s Vice President and Regional Managing Director, Asia-Pacific, says, “We are delighted to launch the Travelport uAPI in Asia as developers in this region see the value in this unique technology which helps them develop innovative new travel apps quickly and efficiently.”
As part of its commitment to innovation and the future of travel technology, Travelport’s uAPI is one of the applications available to developers in the upcoming Web In Travel (WIT) Developer Challenge in Singapore, at the WIT Conference during 21-23 October.
