Trip.com, Agoda, Klook and Grab among early adopters of Meta’s Muse as it becomes available in Singapore
Meta has made Muse, its personal AI agent, available in Singapore, following the global announcement in September. Unlike a conventional chatbot, Muse is designed to carry out tasks for users, such as managing email, coordinating schedules and turning long-term goals into action plans.
Local partners
At launch, Muse integrates with several services popular in Singapore, including Shopee, Grab, Singapore Airlines, Agoda, ShopBack, Klook, Trip.com and Lazada. Users can also connect it to Gmail, Google Calendar and Instagram. Meta said some connector features will roll out in phases, with some becoming available after launch.
According to Meta, users will be able to:
- Research products and compare prices before buying on Shopee or Lazada
- Plan grocery shopping and dining through GrabMart and Grab Dine Out
- Explore travel, ticketing and reservation options through Singapore Airlines, Agoda, Klook and Trip.com
- Earn cashback on travel and shopping, and claim in-store dining deals, through ShopBack
Security and privacy
Meta said Muse runs on Muse Secure VM, a dedicated cloud computer that stores the data and credentials for connected services. The company said passwords and payment methods are kept out of the agent’s view. Users choose which services Muse can access, and it asks for confirmation before sensitive actions such as sending an email or making a purchase. Meta has published a separate post describing its safety approach for AI agents.
Nicole Tan, Managing Director of Meta Singapore, said in a statement: “Muse is your personal agent, built to help make everyday life easier. We are connecting Muse with some of the most iconic brands in Singapore and the region, so you can get things done with the services you already use and love.”
“Partnering with Meta on Muse allows us to further connect conversational AI with real-world action. Whether it’s having daily essentials delivered to your doorstep in minutes or securing a dinner reservation, consumers can now get things done naturally in their chat, backed by the network and reliability of Grab,” said Philipp Kandal, Chief Product Officer at Grab
“We’re excited to be the first digital travel platform globally to connect its AI travel assistant seamlessly with Meta’s Muse, said Matteo Frigerio, Chief Product Officer, Agoda. “Agoda is at the forefront of technology and this connection gives travellers another convenient way to discover, plan and book their trips. It reflects our focus on making travel easier
for customers, wherever they choose to engage with Agoda’s great rates and global supply.”
Jakii Chu, Senior Vice President, Global Marketing, Klook, said “For over a decade, Klook has worked with local operators to bring a world of diverse and authentic experiences online, connecting them with travellers around the world. Now, we’re taking travel discovery to the next level with Meta’s Muse, innovating together to meet travellers where they’re increasingly turning to AI for inspiration and trip planning. With a personal travel agent at their fingertips, travellers can discover Klook’s breadth of experiences faster and more easily, finding options that match their interests and travel plans.”
Availability and pricing
Muse is available in Singapore on iOS, Android and muse.ai. Meta said it will come to its AI glasses later. The service is free for most uses, with paid subscription plans for additional features.
