TripAdvisor, the largest travel website in the world “with nearly half a billion unique visitors every month”, has launched its new homepage worldwide.
The idea behind the redesign is to give travellers searching for places to go or where to stay to discover recommendations from friends, family, publishers and influencers. They can then save and share ideas to plan and book their trip.
Travellers can also collaborate with others with a new feature, Trips. It allows them to save, organise, share and create lists or guides with their destination’s favourite hotels, restaurants and experiences.
TripAdvisor has signed on more than 1,000 publishers and influencers to provide content to the travel feed. Publishers include National Geographic and Time Out while among the influencers are Have Halal Will Travel and Our Better World.
Stephen Kaufer, TripAdvisor president and CEO, said the revamped website is now the traveller’s “go-to resource for travel”.
“The new TripAdvisor provides its members with great content from the people, brands and influencers they rely on for travel and in-destination advice before and during their trip. With the introduction of new voices to TripAdvisor, travellers can better plan their trips by easily finding their ideal hotel, experience or restaurant,” he added in a statement announcing the global launch.
The other new features are:
“This is just the beginning for TripAdvisor as we continue to work with the community to build the best experience for travellers worldwide,” added Kaufer. In the coming weeks we will welcome more brands and influencers to the travel feed and will allow members to upload and share videos and articles.”
