Havana, Cuba and Kathmandu, Nepal tops the world and Asia list respectively in TripAdvisor’s 2013 Travellers’ Choice Destinations on the Rise

Three cities in Asia – Kathmandu (pictured left), Sapporo (Japan) and Hanoi (Vietnam) – also made it to the top 10 in the world list.

According to TripAdvisor, the awards highlighted 54 spots globally that have seen the greatest increase in positive traveller feedback and traveller interest, year-over-year. Lists were also revealed for South Pacific, Europe, South America, and the U.S.

“For travellers looking for inspiration for their 2014 travel planning, TripAdvisor travellers have helped us put a spotlight some amazing destinations that caught the eye of travellers this past year,” said Barbara Messing, TripAdvisor’s chief marketing officer.

“Between large cities gathering steam and off-the-beaten-path spots surfaced by our community, travellers can discover wonderful accommodations, attractions and restaurants in all of these award-winning destinations,” she added.
