Tripping.com, a San Francisco-based search engine for vacation homes and short-term rentals, has secured US$35 million in Series C funding.
The company plans to use the fund to expand and build its brand both in the US and internationally, mainly in Asia.
The round was led by Princeville Global with participation from Adams Street Partners, Steadfast Venture Capital and Quest Venture Partners, as well as travel industry veterans Erik Blachford (former CEO of Expedia and IAC Travel), Fritz Demopoulos (founder of travel metasearch giant Qunar in China), and Monte Koch (board member at Choice Hotels & founder of Auction.com).
With this round of funding Matt Krna, managing director of Princeville Global, will assume a seat on Tripping.com’s board of directors.

Founded in 2009, Tripping.com closed its Series A funding in May 2014 with an undisclosed amount.
In July 2015, the company raised US$16 million in Series B financing with Steadfast Venture Capital leading the round, as announced in this press release.
Tripping.com, led by founder and CEO Jen O’Neal, has over 10 million property listings in 150,000 destinations worldwide. The platform enables users to compare vacation rentals from the world’s top travel sites including HomeAway, VRBO, TripAdvisor, Booking.com, Flipkey and more.
The company said it would generate over US$500 million in gross bookings this year, a 600% increase over 2015.
