China-based homestay booking provider, Tujia, has joined forces with global hotel industry’s cloud platform, SiteMinder, to give its overseas accommodation providers a convenient all-in-one lodging management platform.
The two parties will work to streamline Tujia’s back-end stock management and pricing system to make the management platform more efficient. Closed beta testing of the platform is in progress among key hosts. The service is expected to be available to all overseas hosts soon, according to the statement announcing the cooperation.
It adds that when the service goes online Tujia will have an accurate real-time inventory of about 50,000 room nights each day. “The upgraded system will provide a significantly improved user experience, enabling users who make reservations online to receive instant confirmation of their booking.”
According to Tujia, homestays outside of China tend to be booked through one of several disparate platforms, meaning hosts have to adapt to the operation of multiple systems and deal with the associated costs. To help solve these problems it has rolled out a comprehensive update for its Tujia WAKA overseas booking platform, whcih is fully integrated with iCal (a stock management tool). This tool is said to help 50% of single property hosts reduce their inventory associated problem and increase their order confirmation rate by 30%.
As thousands of lodging listings on Tujia’s platform are already utilising SiteMinder, the new partnership will enhance the management experience.
For example, the interface of Tujia WAKA and SiteMinder’s systems at the back-end enables hosts to create real-time connections in order information, available listings and pricing. Hosts can enjoy a fully functional, synchronised system that displays back-end lodging listing information utilising the capabilities of either system.
The collaboration also helps reduce overselling or refusal of orders by hosts who choose to publish their listings on more than one distribution channel. It ensures that each channel is provided with dedicated stock management data, updated in a timely manner to give hosts an experience that is much more convenient than the status quo.
“This cooperation will bring synergy and mutual benefits to both companies. The new system will be sure to integrate the best prices with the most optimised inventory, reducing the chance of refused or disputed orders by at least 90%,” said Xunzhang Huang, head of Tujia’s overseas division.
Tujia, he added, was “committed to guaranteeing the satisfaction of our customers, as well as offering an enjoyable on-line booking experience” and the new initiative would help do that.
