MARINA Bay Sands, Expedia Group onboard as Travelling Partners

WiT’s first Travel Roadshow will be broadcast live from Marina Bay Sands’ Hybrid Broadcast Studio in Singapore on March 25, 6 to 8pm SG time.

The first in the monthly series of events will be run in a hybrid format, featuring a cast of physical and virtual speakers and will be streamed live to a worldwide audience.

“We wanted our road trip to start at the venue where we hosted our historic hybrid event last October 1 and where we will be returning to for WiT Experience Week 2021 during the week of October 18 to 21,” said Yeoh Siew Hoon, founder, WiT.

“It’s been an uncertain start to the year and our roadshow will provide a ‘campfire’ of sorts for our community to gather round for updates, insights and ideas on how to get through this year.

“With virtual and hybrid here to stay, we look forward to experimenting with new ideas and new tech with the Marina Bay Sands’ team on how we can run events that are more engaging and compelling for a new age of meetings.”

“Our collaboration with WiT last October to host Singapore’s first hybrid trade event was a key industry milestone. The event showcased the evolution as well as digitalisation of event design and experiences. This year, Marina Bay Sands and WiT will continue to push the boundaries by adopting a digital-first approach and incorporating Mixed Reality technology to enhance the delegate experience,” said Paul Town, senior vice president, resort operations at Marina Bay Sands.

Added Yeoh, “Other than Marina Bay Sands, Expedia Group has also hopped onboard as a Travelling Partner. We look forward to welcoming more Travelling Partners as we take this roadshow round the world between March and August. As it is said, it takes a community to raise an industry.”

“Expedia Group is excited to be one of the official Travelling Partners at WiT’s first ever Travel Roadshow. It’s more important than ever for us to come together as an industry, and we look forward to hearing from travel experts and sharing our own ideas throughout the series,” said Greg Schulze, senior vice president, transport and cruise at Expedia Group.

The Travel Roadshow will be powered by GEVME, the Singapore-based virtual event platform, which had also powered the virtual/hybrid WiT Experience Week Singapore last October. In a year-long partnership, all of WiT events will be run on the platform which was also used for major events such as SWITCH 2020, as well as TravelRevive and the IAEE Asia Hybrid Forum.

Said Veemal Gungadin, CEO of Global Signin, “At GEVME, we are delighted to have our virtual event platform power WiT’s first ever Travel Roadshow. We look forward to collaborating with the WiT team in order to push the boundaries of the virtual format and design unique experiences for the worldwide audience throughout the year.”
