Leading Japanese hospitality company, Hotel Okura Co Ltd, has entered into a partnership with travel site, TripAdvisor, making it the first Asia-based company to make its hotel inventory available through the latter’s instant booking platform.

This new platform, which is currently available to U.S. travellers, allows users to conveniently make a hotel booking through TripAdvisor’s hotel and online travel agency partners without leaving the travel site.

Travellers can now book Okura Hotels & Resorts, Nikko Hotels International, and Hotel JAL City directly on TripAdvisor. They just have to tap on “Book on TripAdvisor” to make a hotel reservation. The travel site reminds them they are booking with its instant booking partners and provides them with links and numbers to call to access partners’ customer service resources.

Masaya Hasebe, director of marketing of The Okura Group, said: “As many of our properties have received TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards and Certificates of Excellence, I trust we have high potential to improve our conversion rate.”

Added Robin Ingle, TripAdvisor’s senior vice president, global sales: “Our partnership helps us increase instant booking inventory and offer competitive pricing to our community of millions of travellers.”

TripAdvisor launched its instant booking platform in June 2014 to remove friction from the booking process. The platform provides a more efficient hotel booking experience for travellers, as well as benefits its partners.
