Strong reactions follow Lufthansa’s proposed levy on GDS bookings
Reactions followed swiftly after Lufthansa announced a levy on every GDS booking. All tickets bought directly from the airline – through its websites, service centres, or airport counters – will not be penalised with the “Distribution Cost Charge” (DCC).
The airlines of the Lufthansa Group (LHG) comprising Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Swiss International Air Lines, will add a fee of 16 euros (US$17.87) to every GDS booking from September 1, 2015.
