Wanted: secret agents to snoop on luxury hotels
Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) has launched a global search to find 25 new hotel inspectors to join its worldwide team of ‘secret’ agents.
Applicants must submit their details to www.slh.com/content/mi to be in with the chance of being selected as a Mystery Inspector, “tasked with the mission of upholding SLH’s high standards of luxurious excellence across its worldwide portfolio”, the company says.

The HOGS are heading for Bali
Around 5,000 bikers are expected to visit Bali for the Asia Pacific Harley-Davidson Owners Group (HOG) Convention from November 4-7.
Indonesia’s tourism minister Arief Yahya said the economic value of the event was estimated to reach around US$75 million, both from the direct impacts, including transportation and hotel bookings, “and also from the media value”.

Hong Kong acts to avert ‘travel flu’ crisis
Visitor numbers to Hong Kong from Mainland China, Japan and South Korea declined for a second month running in June, compared with last year, affecting hotel occupancy and room rates. With a 2.9% drop overall, Mainland statistics have seen the largest fall, by 10.6%. March of this year clocked up 8.7% decrease overall, reported the ß.
Peter Lam, chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, called the tourism industry “frail”.
