Travel agents have major role to play in China cruise market

Cruise World MainThe huge growth of the cruise market in China – and the challenges that have accompanied it – were explored in the inaugural CruiseWorld China conference launched  in Shanghai by Travel Weekly China.

Delegates to the event heard that in nine years to 2015, the market capacity has gone from 900 cabins to 12 cruise company operations, three of which were local Chinese cruise vessels.  More than 600 cruises were offered with predictions that by 2030, more than seven million Chinese will be taking a cruise.

Guess which country missed out on a visa-free offer from Indonesia?

passportWhat do the following countries have in common? Suriname, San Marino, Panama, Kirgizstan and Angola.

The answer is that citizens of those countries travelling to Indonesia have been offered short-stay visa-free facilities by the Indonesia government. In all, citizens of 75 countries are on the latest visa free list, joining the existing 15 countries already enjoying the 30-day facility.

Bollywood actor stars as tourism ambassador for New Zealand

Bollywood-actorBollywood superstar Sidharth Malhotra has begun his 10-day jaunt through New Zealand to promote the destination to his fellow citizens in India.

For 10 days Bollywood superstar and ‘Brothers’ actor will visit Auckland, Wellington, Queenstown and Northland. The A-list Sidharth has a social media following of more than 4.3 million.
