Japan’s Venture Republic partners with Airbnb to offer more accommodation choices

Venture Republic, owner of the biggest online travel site in Japan, has formed a partnership with Airbnb in Japan, making it the first metasearch partner of the peer-to-peer online marketplace and homestay network.

Travel.jp, the travel metasearch engine owned by Venture Republic, has launched its overseas Airbnb property search section available on desktop, with the mobile version to  follow shortly.

The domestic Airbnb property search in Japan will also be available on both PC and mobile.

“This partnership allows users to search all Airbnb properties easily and to choose accommodation from wider options in a single platform, travel.jp,” says Venture Republic in a statement.

Venture Republic CEO Kei Shibata said users of the site are now able to compare Airbnb properties along with hotels offered by Expedia, Booking.com, Agoda etc.
