Global hotel price search and comparison website, trivago, expands its foothold in Southeast Asia with the recent launch of new local platforms in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
trivago Indonesia, trivago Malaysia, and trivago Thailand are available in local languages and in English. Their launches follow that of Singapore’s last year, increasing the website’s reach to 47 global markets in 28 languages.
Robin Harries, trivago’s head of APAC, sees the headway into Asia, where trivago now operates in 10 countries, inevitable.
“The potential of almost 200 million Southeast Asian Internet users cannot be ignored. We see interesting but also challenging markets with high growth rates in the travel sector and are keen to roll out our activities over there.”
trivago compares rates from over 700,000 hotels on over 50 booking sites worldwide at no cost to users. Over 45 million visitors per month use trivago’s various filters, and in turn save an average of 35% per booking. It integrates over 82 million hotel reviews and 14 million photos to make finding the perfect hotel easier for users.
trivago has a mobile app for iOS and Android devices.
