Integration of ITA Software’s technology will allow Google to provide detailed flight search results, including prices, maps and route comparisons, links to airlines and other results based on the searcher’s IP address.

Expedia launches travel agent platform

Expedia announced the launch of the Expedia Access platform, designed to support the Expedia Travel Agent Affiliate Programme (TAAP). 

The travel agent portal will streamline agent reporting and login procedures, enabling users to personalise and rebrand invoices and programmes for clients and allow the download of itineraries into Microsoft Word or Outlook. Managers and consultants will have access to daily activity and commission reports.

Hail the SWISS Apps

SWISS has introduced new applications (“apps”) for the Android and Nokia smartphones. With similar functions already successfully provided for the BlackBerry, iPhone and Windows Phone 7, SWISS now offers apps for most smart mobile phones.

The apps enable SWISS customers to obtain information quickly and conveniently on flights and further services, book their air travel, check in and call up their mobile boarding pass. With the iPhone and the Android, the boarding pass can be received by the app directly as soon as the customer has checked in, and can be called up again by simply shaking the phone. The apps also provide the very latest details of a SWISS flight’s departure or arrival time.
