The partnership, which was inked in Hong Kong recently, will see the two companies doing cross marketing for each other’s properties.

Dorsett, for example, will be promoted to US based Diamond’s 1.4 million owners, members and guests throughout North America and Europe, enabling it to reach these two markets where it does not have any sales or marketing representation.

In return, Dorsett will promote Diamond to its FIT guests through its sales network in Asia.

Winnie Chiu, president and executive director of Dorsett Hospitality International said the partnership would strengthen and expand the group’s brand global presence at a faster pace, as well as to help drive US and European travellers to Asia through Diamond’s network.

“Whilst we continue to pursue our ‘Chinese Wallet’ strategy, we also believe it is important to focus on market segments in other continents which are of importance to us as well,” she added.

The deal will also see Dorsett’s brand promoted in all of Diamond’s collaterals and online presence, and its rooms bookable on Diamond’s websites and call centres.

Members of Diamond’s network can use their Diamond points to redeem rooms at Dorsett hotels.

Dorsett currently has 25 hotels in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, China and UK. The group’s first hotel in Singapore, Dorsett Singapore, soft opened on 28 March. The group will open new hotels in China, Hong Kong and London later this year till 2015, bringing its total room inventory to 7,300 by 2016.
