Jetstar Airways and Mastercard among a slate of new partners that have adopted Expedia tech, as the platform grows its APAC footprint

During the inaugural EXPLORE 23: Connect Asia event, Expedia Group announced a series of new travel partners who have adopted Expedia Group’s technology solutions, bolstering its B2B portfolio in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. These solutions focus on businesses of all sizes and facilitate traveller demand, while streamlining control over operations.

Expedia Group’s B2B division provides a range of technologies including White Label Template, Rapid API, and Optimized Distribution, designed to enable partners to access global travel markets while maintaining operational autonomy.

Greg Schulze, Senior Vice President of Strategic Travel Partners at Expedia Group, highlighted their focus on helping partners discover new demand and manage wholesale distribution in APAC and beyond.

Expedia Group’s White Label Template

Expedia Group’s White Label Template is a solution that allows partners to integrate Expedia Group’s portfolio of hotels and travel products into their own websites or applications. This integration provides customers with a one-stop-shop for booking package holidays, featuring a multi-product travel website, loyalty integration, and enhanced marketing capabilities.

Expedia Group’s latest APAC partners adopting this technology include:

  • Jetstar Airways: One of Asia’s largest low-cost airlines, Jetstar now enables access to Expedia Group’s inventory of more than 900,000 properties.
  • Philippine Airlines: The flag carrier of the Philippines has launched PAL Holidays, a travel booking platform powered by Expedia Group’s White Label Template.
  • Mastercard: Expedia Group’s tech enables a loyalty points redemption program that allows cardholders to redeem credit card loyalty points for travel bookings. This partnership is set to expand to major banks in Australia and beyond in 2024.

Rapid API Technology for Superior Booking Experiences

Expedia Group’s Rapid API technology offers travel companies access to support and lodging supply, featuring rates and availability from over 700,000 properties worldwide. This API solution also provides last-minute availability and package rates.

New partners adopting Rapid API include Gmarket, an e-commerce platform in South Korea, and Joy Travel, a Guangzhou-based hotel accommodation distributor specialising in outbound travel from mainland China and international travel with tour operators in Southeast Asia.

Optimized Distribution

Developed in collaboration with hotels, Expedia Group’s Optimized Distribution technology offers a single gateway solution for shopping experience for travellers. It provides a display of hotel descriptions, room rates, and fees through trusted third-party travel providers.

Expedia Group has witnessed substantial growth in its Optimized Distribution solution, with recent partners including Dusit Hotels & Resorts, headquartered in Thailand, and COMO Hotels and Resorts, a Singapore-based hotel group operating 17 hotels worldwide.

These new APAC partners join a growing list of travel companies already in partnership with Expedia Group, such as Vietnam Airlines, which expanded its relationship with the company in August 2023 to enhance traveller experiences and increase visibility for Vietnam’s national carrier on a global scale.
