Northstar Travel Group has bought AXUS Travel App, an itinerary management software for travel advisors and tour operators.
Terms of the acquistion have not been disclosed.
Founded in 2014, AXUS automates the creation of trip proposals and itineraries for travel managers and seamlessly delivers all booking confirmations and custom travel details to the traveler through a unique URL and dynamic mobile app.
The platform streamlines the way travel advisors and tour operators communicate with clients from the initial planning process all the way through the in-destination experience, leveraging integrations with major wholesalers and back end systems, parsing engines and multi-party collaboration.
The key features of AXUS include flight notifications, driving directions, destination guides, generation of PDF itineraries, access to supporting documents and in-app messaging – all accessible to travellers anytime from anywhere.
AXUS founder and CEO, Julia Douglas, and her team will continue with AXUS as it becomes part of Northstar, working with Sheila Rice, VP of Northstar’s Information Products Group.
“The addition of the AXUS planning tool and mobile application is an important strategic enhancement to our suite of subscription workflow and content tools for travel professionals,” said Thomas Kemp, CEO & chairman of Northstar Travel Group.
Douglas added that together with Northstar, AXUS would bring “an even richer feature set, broader integrations and deeper content” to its customers.
Northstar is the owner of well-known brands including WIT (Web in Travel), Travel Weekly, TravelAge West and Meetings & Conventions.
