The first postponement came in February when Branson ruptured a ligament after colliding into a teenager on the ski slopes in Switzerland. It was then moved to May 1 with tickets going on sale online (read story here) and the bid to partake in the costliest leg shave in the world, ala Branson’s legs, launched.
Now the AirAsia X D708 London-Kuala Lumpur charity flight has been moved to July 4.
Seems the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton has a hand in the latest postponement.
“The change was made to help address the growing difficulty of obtaining accommodation in and flights into London brought about by the increase in the number of people visiting London over the long bank holiday weekend and Royal Wedding,” AirAsia gave as reason for the postponement
The flight will now depart London for Kuala Lumpur on July 4 as AirAsia believes the new date will provide guests “with better access and comfort for travel into and within London”.
Guests who have purchased tickets for the charity flight on AirAsiaGo.com will be given a full refund, or the option to transfer the booking to the new date.
