Singapore Airlines (SIA) will expand the KrisConnect Programme to its travel trade partners in the United States, providing them with a wider range of fares and personalised content from March 2021..
This is made possible through KrisConnect’s leverage of Application Programme Interface (API) technology, including the industry-developed New Distribution Capability (NDC) standards, to deliver improved content and functionality through partner platforms. SIA was one of the first airlines in Asia Pacific to take advantage of this new technology when it launched KrisConnect in 2018.
Travel agencies that participate in the KrisConnect Programme will benefit from improved speed-to-market, access to the widest range of fare products including personalised content and the ability to offer customised products to their customers such as bundled packages and negotiated fare deals.
According the airline, “this in turn elevates the booking experience for customers through increased levels of personalisation and recognition of KrisFlyer status.”
SIA will make content available to travel agencies and other external partners through traditional Global Distribution Systems such as Amadeus, Sabre and Travelport. They can also access the content through the airline’s new technology partners – Aaron Group, ATRIIS, HitchHiker, PKFARE, Travel Boutique Online, Travelfusion, TravelNDC and Verteil Technologies.
In addition SIA’s travel agent portal, AGENT 360, will be enhanced to allow agents direct access to content via the KrisConnect Programme.
Joey Seow, SIA’s regional vice president – Americas, said the KrisConnect Programme is “key” to meeting traveller’s expectations, which are constantly evolving.
