Veltra has signed an exclusive agreement with medical and wellness booking platform Trambellir, marking a move into the expanding “wellness and beauty travel” segment. The partnership caters to the rising demand for wellness tourism and offers travellers a new category of in-trip experiences focused on self-investment, holistic wellbeing, and aesthetic treatments.
Long established as an OTA focused on global tours and travel experiences, Veltra has seen rising demand for experiences that go beyond sightseeing and entertainment. Consumer awareness around physical and mental health has grown sharply since the pandemic, while interest in medical aesthetics, cosmetic procedures, and preventative health checks overseas has also accelerated.
This shift prompted Veltra to begin test-marketing cosmetic services last year in South Korea, initially focusing on skin treatments such as spot removal. According to the company, demand “far exceeded expectations,” encouraging Veltra to secure a long-term strategic partner to expand the program.
Headquartered in Malaysia, Trambellir has built a curated marketplace of medical and wellness clinics offering services such as cosmetic surgery, aesthetic dermatology, cosmetic dentistry, hair restoration, and comprehensive health check-ups. Trambellir adds that partner clinics undergo rigorous screening to ensure standards of hygiene, practitioner credentials, and patient safety. Veltra is now integrating Trambellir’s inventory into its platform, allowing travellers to search, enquire, and book treatments through Veltra, while Trambellir provides support and liaison with clinics throughout the care process.
This complementary fit works both ways, says Trambellir co-founder and CEO So Iizuka. Speaking about Veltra’s initial pilot, he explains, “Veltra has been test-marketing this product segment and has seen strong demand and encouraging feedback from their customer base. However, they’ve faced challenges in scaling their inventory globally and lack the domain specific expertise to identify suitable service providers. This is precisely where Trambellir steps in, with operational excellence and a curated network of trusted partners in many different countries.”
The partnership also addresses strategic goals for Trambellir. While the company already operates a broad cross-border medical travel network, the Japanese traveller remains a market the platform has struggled to penetrate directly. “Trambellir has yet to effectively reach Japanese travellers, a segment where Veltra holds deep expertise and a proven track record of,” explains So. “Hence, this partnership bridges mutual gaps; Veltra gains global supply strength, while Trambellir accesses a high-potential market segment, creating a win-win foundation for growth.”
The partnership gives Trambellir access to Veltra’s multi-million user base, increasing market visibility. As So notes, “By becoming a key inventory supplier for Veltra, Trambellir has access to several million of their existing members via their platform. It’s a great opportunity to connect with Japanese travellers – a market audience we’ve previously struggled to engage directly.”
Beginning with South Korea, Veltra plans to expand service categories and destinations. Initial offerings include minor aesthetic treatments and teeth whitening, with planned expansion into broader aesthetic medicine, cosmetic dentistry, preventive medical examinations, hair restoration, and other wellbeing programs.
The collaboration is designed to give travellers a structured experience, from research and booking through treatment and follow-up, supported by Trambellir’s operational teams and vetted partner clinics.

“With increased exposure to Japanese travellers who tend to be more beauty and health-conscious, we may need to prioritise destinations and services that align with their preferences, particularly in terms of comfort, cultural familiarity and accessibility during holidays,” says So.
For Veltra, the move is also part of a wider redefinition of what travel experiences can represent. Rather than being limited to entertainment or sightseeing, wellness and beauty travel is positioned as a form of personal growth and “self-management” of both body and mind.
Veltra and Trambellir are betting on wellness becoming a mainstream category of international travel. Offering vetted medical and aesthetic experiences through a trusted platform addresses two major friction points for travellers: finding reputable clinics overseas, and navigating a process that feels safe, transparent, and convenient.
If successful, both companies expect the partnership to serve as a model for further expansion and additional OTA collaborations.
As Iizuka summed up, “We anticipate this collaboration will serve as a proof point, paving our way for future partnerships with OTAs in other regions once we demonstrate strong transaction performance in this market segment.”
