Next Story Group, formerly Silver Needle Hospitality, has launched its first co-working space, Kafnu Hong Kong, at Kerry Hotel in the Hung Hom area of Kowloon.
Kafnu is named after a village in India where people go to start Himalayan hikes – a basecamp so to speak. Just like travellers go to Kafnu to begin their real journeys, Kafnu wants its spaces to be the basecamp for entrepreneurs, creators, and artists on their metaphorical journeys. The new Hong Kong space, operating with Kafnu’s motto of ‘Challenge the ordinary’, focuses on the development of human potential and achievement while providing the tools, facilities and services to support personal objectives.
Workspace in Kafnu Hong Kong
The workspace has micro-sections of about 50sqm each. A key signature feature is the custom designed aquascapes with views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island, as well as an outdoor garden. Created by Hong Kong based designer David Chow, they are intended to create a ‘sense of nature’ in the urban concrete jungle setting.
The music for the space is curated through ‘Music Concierge’ that transitions from day to night and varies daily.

Facilities include meeting rooms, communal lounges and kitchen areas, private sleep pods and a gymnasium.
Morris Sim, head of Kafnu and chief marketing officer of Next Story Group says: ‘Kafnu’s core concept is to provide the spaces, tools, and services to bring together diverse groups of people to learn and support each other and ultimately attain advancement as an individual as well as a community.”
Developments in the pipeline include the opening of Kafnu Taipei in November with properties in Bangalore (India), Sydney and Ringwood in Melbourne (Australia), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Colombo (Sri Lanka) scheduled to open next year.
