To celebrate their joint 20th birthdays this year, WiT and Wego are teaming up to launch “Travel Tech Thursdays” in Kuala Lumpur on the last Thursday of every month, starting on February 27.
The two-hour event, to be held at Wego’s new offices in the Malaysian capital city, will feature interesting speakers on topics relevant to travel tech and an opportunity to network with the country’s growing travel tech industry.
“WiT turns 20 this year, we’ve seen the online travel industry evolve over the years in the region and Malaysia’s online travel industry is coming into its own. There’s a thriving and vibrant travel tech ecosystem developing, interesting startups emerging and we want to be the catalyst to bring the community together around common interests,” said Yeoh Siew Hoon, founder, WiT.
“Besides, Malaysia is home to our WiT Indie event, held in Penang. This year’s edition, from July 24-25, is our seventh edition and it is also coming into its own as a showcase for the independent travel market, from hotels to tours and activities and related destination products and services.”

Nadia Omer, CEO of AirAsia MOVE, will kick off the inaugural Travel Tech Thursday on February 27 as guest speaker.
